Need an Official Record?
Use these official channels for the most requested Walton County records:
- Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
- Criminal records and Florida histories: contact Florida Department of Law Enforcement Criminal History Services
- Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the Walton County Sheriff's Office Records Section
- Official state name checks: order through FDLE's Computerized Criminal History service
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Expungement and record sealing: file with the court that heard the case
For sheriff records, use the WCSO Records Section, 10 Sheriff Circle, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433, 850-951-7008 extension 3589. The records counter operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays. Requests are also accepted through JustFOIA or wcsopublicrecords@waltonso.org.
For filed criminal cases and certified court copies, contact the Walton County Clerk at 571 U.S. Highway 90 East, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433, 850-892-8115. Walk-in record hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Requests may be sent to ClerkRecords@WaltonClerkFL.Gov or faxed to 850-892-8017.
